I know that looking for a counsellor can feel daunting, and that even the decision to try therapy can bring up its own anxiety. But sometimes, just talking through what's on your mind, and being truly listened to, can help you see things from a completely different perspective.
Working together in a confidential and safe space, I want to help you build a clearer understanding of your thoughts and feelings — especially at times when you're feeling disheartened, anxious, depressed, confused, or simply unable to cope.
I support a wide range of difficult and challenging issues. My approach is non-judgemental and non-directive, which means you decide what you bring to our sessions to process and explore. I aim to be open, honest, and supportive throughout.
I believe a caring, accepting relationship is at the heart of good counselling. My role is to listen, offer insight, and support you as we explore new coping strategies together, so you can make informed choices about change.
(This isn't an exhaustive list — I work with a wide range of difficult and challenging areas.)
I hold all the qualifications required for my role and am a member of the BACP.

Hi, I'm a counsellor based at Reveal and Heal Therapy Hub.
I come to counselling from a career as a police officer. In this role, I was exposed to a wide variety of difficult and dangerous situations, as well as dealing with people whose mental health had deteriorated. I'm now using this knowledge to support clients — many of whom come to me after being a victim, offender, or witness of a crime.
I'm not afraid to discuss these situations in sessions, and can also offer guidance around processes and how these experiences may be affecting you. Clients often tell me they value being able to share what's happened in a non-judgemental space, with someone who doesn't struggle to hear difficult conversations.
I also work with emergency service personnel who may have unresolved issues around incident management that they may not wish to address in their workplace. I offer genuine empathy in this space.
I love being a counsellor and watching a client grow and develop as they work through their problems, concerns, and past experiences. Seeing someone feel better in themselves, deal with a difficult issue, or pass an exam is incredibly rewarding — for them and for me. It's a privilege to be part of that journey.
I'm not a "pink and fluffy" counsellor. I can be direct in my approach, and challenging at times, but always in a supportive manner. I find this works well for my clients, and the results are deeply rewarding for them.

Louise totally understands that looking for a counsellor is very daunting and appreciates the decision to try therapy can evoke many feelings of anxiety. However, sometimes just talking through your concerns and being truly listened to can help you see things from a unique perspective. By working together with Louise in a confidential and safe space it will enable you to have an increased sense of understanding of your thoughts and feelings, especially when feeling disheartened, anxious, depressed, confused and unable to cope.
Louise covers a wide range of difficult and challenging areas that need support. The support offered is non-judgemental and non-directive. You decide what to bring to the sessions to process and explore and her approach will be open, honest, and supportive. The therapeutic relationship is caring and accepting which is fundamental to the counselling process. The aim is to help you develop clarity by listening, providing insight and support and together you can explore new coping strategies and make informed choices about change.
A particular skillset that Louise has (but not limited to) supports working with trans, non-binary and questioning adults, their family, and friends. Louise can support you when you find talking about your gender diversity issues a challenge and can support you by offering a safe place to talk freely without stigma, judgement, or shame.
Louise has also spent time supporting clients who have hoarding tendencies. Hoarding sometimes helps you cope with feeling anxious, upset, or afraid. Whilst Louise does not offer the practical de-cluttering support she can offer you the chance to explore the difficult experiences and often painful feelings which you may be finding hard to express, face or resolve.
Louise carries all of the required qualifications and is a member of the BACP.
I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation. This can be carried out by either telephone or video-link (Zoom)
